ESSEX BAR HONORS FOUNDING PARTNER
James Piro, who founded Piro Zinna Cifelli Paris & Genitempo, in 1969 was honored for his 50 years of legal practice by the Essex County Bar Association at a dinner held November 5, 2018.
Piro continues to specialize in complex commercial transactions, acquisitions and mergers and commercial real estate. For the past 35 years, Piro has served as Counsel to the Passaic Valley Sewerage Commission, which operates the country’s fifth largest sewerage treatment facility. Piro has been recognized as a New Jersey Super Lawyer.
Piro has devoted his career to volunteer public service, having served as Chairman of the District Ethics Committee, Chairman of the Nutley Invitational Golf Tournament, the Nutley Board of Education, the Nutley Elks, the Knights of Columbus and the United Way. He also served as an elected Essex County Freeholder.
His work has earned him Man of the Year recognition by the Nutley P.B.A., Grand Marshall of the Nutley/Belleville Columbus Day Parade and the Nutley Jaycees Distinguished Service Award.
